My name is Mandy, and I am 36 years old. I live in Michigan’s not-so-sunny (or bright) suburbs along with my son, daughter, and husband. I work in Web Development professionally during the workweek, but I am also an avid knitter. I spend my free time with my family, but all of my spare time goes to thinking up new and exciting creations.
When I was 10 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare form of a spinal tumor that was the size of a grapefruit. It was removed from my spine but left residual damages that didn’t become apparent until I was 30 years old, when I slowly started losing the ability to walk. Nowadays, I get around in a wheelchair outside of the house and a walker inside of the home.
I love using bright colors in my knitting, and my favorite yarn will always be some type of wool. I love how it holds its shape and keeps warm during Michigan’s cold winters. I often use acrylic or an acrylic wool blend for things for my children. My favorite color is pink, although I love any color that could be referred to as happy.
I started this blog to keep a written record of all my knitting accomplishments. I am not great at writing down everything I do, so I am hopeful that this endeavor helps journaling become a habit.
